Online Blackjack

Playing Blackjack online is just like playing around your kitchen table, without the interruptions and you can pause anytime you like, for a cold beverage or a snack run, and never lose your place in the game. The rules are the same for basic blackjack, but the really interesting part is that there are several variations of this classic casino game. We'd like to introduce you to some of these variations,  and to give you a rundown of the basic rules for the traditional game of Blackjack.

In Blackjack, the object of the game is to come as close to 21 with your cards, without going over. You play against the dealer, no matter how many other players may be at the table. Online, the game is played with one to eight standard decks of cards. The dealer deals you two cards face up, a card to himself face down and the second face up. You decide at this point whether to 'Hit' or 'Stand' and then the dealer plays out his own hand. The dealer must 'Hit' on 16 or less, and must 'Stand' with a Hard 17, or 18 or more. This last rule may vary depending on the version of the game, but in classic Blackjack it is a hard rule.

Variations of Blackjack:

Bonus Blackjack - has a bonus payout for two card combinations such as 50 to 1 for an Ace and Jack of Spades.
Double Exposure Blackjack - The dealers cards are both dealt face up.
Super Fun 21 Blackjack - has a bonus payout for a 5 cards equaling 21, and a Diamond Blackjack.
Triple 7s Blackjack - get one, two or three 7's for a bonus. This is a Progressive Game that pays out the jackpot for 3 Diamond 7's.
Atlantic City Blackjack - Played with 8 decks. Dealer may stand on soft 17, and is allowed to Peek. Player can Double on any first two cards, and this is allowed after a split. May split to three hands. Late surrender is also allowed.
Vegas Strip Blackjack - Same as Atlantic City Blackjack except this game is played with 4 decks.
Vegas Downtown Blackjack - Same as above except this game is played with 2 decks.
Pontoon - get a bonus for a hand of 5 cards that doesn't bust, also called a 5 Card Trick. Dealer may Peek if an Ace or Ten are showing.
Spanish Blackjack - this game is played without the '10' cards and pays a bonus for obtaining certain card combinations.
Blackjack Switch - players are dealt two hands, face up, which they can 'Switch' cards between the hands to come up with the best possible hand. Equal bets are made on each hand. Player can Double on any two cards and can Double after a Split. A dealer's 22 will be a push against  21 or under except a Blackjack.
Matchplay 21 - played with 48 cards and bonuses are won for Triple 7's Blackjack and other specific card combinations.

There are other variations, depending on the casino you choose. Each will provide you with complete rules to the various Blackjack games, but we hope this has given you some insight into these games.
