Online Craps

The simplest way to learn to play craps is to first familiarize yourself with the table. On the table, it's clearly marked for the types of bets you can make. At either end of the table, you'll see that the layout and markings are identical, in fact they are mirror images of each other. It's here that you place the majority of the bets. In the middle of the table is a box divided to show the Hardway bets and the One Roll bets.

To oversee the game, there are 4 casino personnel at the table at all times. Each have their own job to do. The first is the Boxperson, who sits at the center of the table. He is there to keep the game running smoothly by settling any dispute, counts the money and monitors the wins and losses of the players. Two dealers are stationed at the back side of the table and are responsible for paying winners and collecting chips from losers. They will also make certain bets for you such as the Place Bets and Come/Don't Come Bets. Finally, there is the Stickperson, who handles the dice. He retrieves the dice and moves it back to the Shooter after each roll. He also acts as the game emcee as he 'Talks Up the Game' and encourages players on their bets.

Craps Bets

Understanding the types of bets is your next step in learning to play. Take one at a time and in the end, it will all come together and you will see that it's not nearly as complicated as it first seemed.

Pass - This first bet is one that the shooter will roll a 7 or 11 or that the roller will roll the point again before a 7 or 11 comes up.

Don't Pass - is just the opposite of the Pass, in that the best is against the shooter. A win is if Craps is rolled on the come out or the shooter does not make the point. A push occurs if a 12 is rolled.

Come - is one of the best bets and is made after point has been established. If point hasn't been established, the next roll is considered point and the come out roll.

Don't Come - Once the come out roll is made and point established. A wins occurs when a Craps, 2 or 3, is rolled, pushes with a 12.

Field - Bets on the next roll and pays even money on 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 is rolled. Pays 2 to 1 on Snake Eyes or Boxcars.

Hardway - This bet is made that a Hard ( two 2's, two 3's, two 4's or two 5's ) 4, 6, 8 or 10 will be rolled before a 7 or any of these numbers in other combinations.

Propositions - Any Craps, 7, 2, 12, 3, or 11 will come up on next roll.

Big 6 - A bet that 6 will be rolled next, before a 7.

Big 8 - A bet that 6 will be rolled next, before a 7.

These are the basic bets in Craps. Once you are familiar with these bets, your game will be a very enjoyable one and you'll be able to play with the best of the players.
